About Counseling

"The vital, successful people I have met all had one common characteristic.  They had a plan."  - Marilyn Van Derbur

Who better to learn from than a professional with similar business experiences and the expertise to help you to reach your objectives?  Whether it is a seminar, workshop or individual counseling, the Center provides assistance in areas such as:

  • Business and strategic planning
  • Business Planning/Pre-Startup issues
  • Marketing
  • Cost maintenance and reduction tools
  • Business financing resources
  • Web design and Internet technology
  • Bank presentation preparation
  • Business location/relocation
    (when applying for loans)
  • International business issues
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping

Our volunteers, more than 30 strong, are at the core of our services.  Their commitment to facilitating small business owners' and entrepreneurs' success is borne out of their own professional experiences.  Working in conjunction with the Center's staff, our volunteer counselors hail from diverse and dynamic backgrounds including, but not limited to:

  • Accounting
  • Insurance
  • Business/Strategic planning
  • Law (Business)
  • Business Financing
  • Marketing/Sales
  • Cash Management and Forecasting
  • Taxes
  • Computers/Technology
  • Web site design

Many are small business owners and entrepreneurs.  Other volunteers bring experience from large corporations, institutions of higher learning and local government agencies.  The common denominator among all is a commitment to supporting and enhancing the business community in which they live and work.  So, take advantage of their knowledge and experience to grow your own business.

All counseling services are complimentary and strictly confidential.
