Cynthia Richmond, Deputy Director, Department of Economic Development - Loudoun County
Karim Khan, Head of Reference, Rust Library - Loudoun County Public Library

Cynthia Richmond and Karim Khan will address the changing economic environment and process of market research by focusing on:

  • Demographic and economic trends at the national, northern Virginia, Loudoun and sub-county levels
  • Types of available demographic, economic, competitor and industry data
  • Tools and resources for researching this data—including numerous online databases usable free of charge through the Loudoun County Public Library System

Ms. Richmond has over 25 years of experience in market research and economic anaylsis. Since 1990, she has managed impact analysis, policy development and strategic planning research projects for Loudoun County's economic development. She holds an Masters in Urban & Regional Planning from Ohio State University. Mr. Khan has provided information services in public and corporate libraries since 1986. He has an MA from Hollins University and a Masters in Library Science from Catholic University.
